High School: This 3-sport athlete out of Webster Thomas is being publicized as one of the Lady Lakers top new defenders heading into 2012. The freshman, who played not only on the women’s soccer team in high school, but on the basketball and track team’s as well, brings a plethora of skill sets with her to the collegiate level as an athlete. She is described as fast, strong, and knowledgeable. Hefner has the speed to track down opposing offenders, the strength to defend against them, and the knowledge to outsmart them. Her IQ of the sport sits high. Over her years of playing soccer at WT, she worked religiously to learn the ins and outs of the sport from a defensive standpoint. She dedicated herself to putting the necessary time in for competing at a high level while at WT. The great will and high level of tenacity that she displayed in high school is what the Lady Laker coaches strive to recruit – and well, this player has both of these intangibles on her side.  The Finger Lakes coaching staff is excited to see what Hefner can bring to the table in 2012 as she is expected to be a key piece to the center of the teams’ defense this season. The defender is currently majoring in nursing.
